Did You Know...

  • Baby birds can be safely placed back in their nest? The mother will not reject them due to the human scent since most birds can't smell.
  • Adult squirrels running in the spring or summer with no fur on their upper back or shoulders is normal? The females rip the fur out to line the nest for their young.
  • Robins continually attacking the windows of your house are exhibiting territorial behaviour? They see their reflection as another robin and are trying to chase it out of the area.
  • It is normal for fledgling birds to be on the ground about a week before they can fly? They are too big for the nest and if you watch carefully, you'll see the parents continue to feed them on the ground.
